Born out of the urgent need to address the long-standing impacts of the 20-year Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) conflict in Northern Uganda, NUWAHR is committed to promoting and defending the rights of vulnerable community members while advancing reconciliation and healing.

Through its peacebuilding and mediation efforts, the organization works to support conflict-affected and vulnerable communities in rebuilding trust, restoring relationships, and fostering peaceful coexistence. By addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and inclusive participation, NUWAHR contributes to stronger social cohesion and more resilient communities.
